Abstract

The development of information technology requires Vocational High Schools (SMK) to have a well-managed computer network system to support learning activities and school administration. One solution that can be implemented is the construction of a client-server-based computer network equipped with an Access Point. This Network Management assignment report aims to implement and test a client-server network and wireless connections in a vocational high school computer laboratory. The methods used include literature study, network design, device configuration, connectivity testing, and documentation of results. The network was designed using a star topology with static IP addressing, consisting of one server, several client computers, a switch, and one Access Point. Network implementation was carried out using Cisco Packet Tracer simulation. The test results showed that all devices could be connected well, both via wired and wireless networks, as evidenced by the success of ping tests between devices. The use of a star topology provides network stability and simplifies management. Thus, the implementation of a client-server network and Access Point can be an effective solution to support data management and information technology-based learning processes in a vocational high school environment.
